(Woodbury, Minn. – September 29, 2010) – On September 20, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty and the Minnesota National Guard proclaimed Globe University/Minnesota School of Business as a Yellow Ribbon Campus. This proclamation is a testament of Globe University/Minnesota School of Business’s commitment to supporting our country’s military members, their spouses and dependents through providing quality education.

 

The proclamation states that, “the Yellow Ribbon Campus campaign honors college and university communities with exceptional records of caring for their military members and families through various programs and public works, and recognizes individuals in these communities who have sworn to uphold this standard for future military members and families.”

 

Globe University/Minnesota School of Business employs two full-time military student services staff members to support military students, and offers four scholarships set aside specifically for military members, their spouses and dependents to reduce their cost of education.

 

Mike Hughes, director of military student services at Globe University/Minnesota School of Business, said it was an honor to receive the Yellow Ribbon Campus designation. “We are grateful to be able to help military students achieve their educational and career goals,” he said. “This proclamation reinforces the value our state places on serving our military students, just as they have served our state. Globe University/Minnesota School of Business is honored to be part of this commitment.”
